6 Handling. Winner – 27.5. Again, the 27.5 was introduced to narrow the distance between the 26er and 29ers. What most riders find though, is that the 27.5 aligns more closely with the 26er. With a shorter and lighter wheelbase than the 29er, the 27.5-inch bike is going to require less energy to move around. Inshort, the smaller the angle, the easier it is for the wheel to roll over the object. 29-inch wheels are particularly reliable and stable on rough and speed descents and climb. Many riders feel more confident with larger wheels. So all things being equal, you should be able to run a 29er tyre with 11.5% lower air pressure than an equivalent 26-inch tyre. If you typically run 30psi in 26-inch wheels, you should be able to use 26.5psi with 29-inch wheels.
