Gothic is a DirectX7 game and requires DirectX9 kernel driver but Intel doesn't provide any DX9 driver starting from 11th gen due to lack of fixed function pipeline in hardware. Other DX7-DX9 titles might work because Windows 10/11 use D3D9On12 mapping layer when there aren't any DX9 driver available but it doesn't work on Gothic.

Gamepad support has already been implemented in the first two parts of the Gothic series using plugins for Union. Works great! I advise everyone. With JoyToKey I've managed to fit almost all of them: mapped 5,6,7,8 to subsequent clicks of left stick, 1-2 to long/short X clicks, 3, 4 to dpad left-right long clicks.
